Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for enthusiastic and motivated Band 6 Paediatric Nurses to join the Rainbow Centre for Children and Young People at Newham University Hospital.

We are looking for nurses who are passionate about delivering high-quality, child-centred care to acutely unwell children and young people, and who are keen to further develop their leadership and clinical skills within a supportive multidisciplinary

Main duties of the job
  • Deliver safe, effective, and compassionate nursing care to children and young people within an acute paediatric setting
  • Act as a Band 6 nurse in charge, providing clinical leadership and supporting junior staff
  • Work collaboratively within the multidisciplinary team to ensure high standards of care
  • Support and contribute to service development, quality improvement, and audit
  • Act as a role model for professional practice, in line with Trust values and NMC standards
  • Recognise personal limitations and elevate concerns appropriately

Qualifications and Knowledge
  • RSCN / RN Child with current registration
  • Preparation for mentorship course or equivalent
  • Evidence of continued professional development
  • Knowledge of current and emerging NHS strategy and policy
  • Knowledge and experience in Safeguarding Children
  • Educated to degree level or working towards it
Experience
  • Minimum of 2 years experience at band 6 level within an acute paediatric setting
  • Orthopaedic surgical experience
