Job Description

Are you an experienced Planner with a strong track record in infrastructure projects?
Do you want to play a key role in major programmes across South Wales?

Salary: up to £70,000 plus £5,500 car allowance (absolute maximum package)
Location: Cardiff, 3 days in the office per week, remainder from home
Start date: Available for immediate start (can hold for notice periods)

I am recruiting two experienced Planners to join a leading consultancy that supports public sector clients across transport and wider regulated infrastructure. You will be embedded in high-profile programmes in South Wales, helping to shape and deliver complex, multi-stakeholder schemes.

Skills and experience required:

  • Proven experience as a Planner within the rail or wider infrastructure sector such as utilities, civils, water, highways etc. (5 years minimum)
  • Primavera P6 - essential, with strong practical experience building and maintaining programmes
  • Strong understanding of project and programme planning tools and methodologies
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to liaise across multidisciplinary teams and senior stakeholders
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, challenge assumptions and provide clear planning insight

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of the railway investment lifecycle and business case stages (SOBC to FBC)
  • Experience of working within a consultancy, client-side or major contractor environment
  • Familiarity with NEC contracts and how they interface with programme controls (preferred but not essential)
  • Experience of working on multi-stakeholder programmes in a regulated environment
  • Professional membership or working towards (APM, ICE, CIOB or similar)
