What you'll doThe People and Culture (P&C) Business Partner is a trusted advisor to managers and leaders within a business area, supporting the delivery of people strategies that enable performance, engagement, and growth.
Reporting to the People Leader, Engineering, this role partners with other PCBPs and Talent Partners to implement people initiatives aligned to business priorities, providing guidance on organization design, talent development, performance, inclusion, and culture.
This role operates with a blend of strategic and hands on delivery - balancing business partnering with execution of core P&C programs. It supports the translation of global people strategies into local and functional actions, ensuring consistency and excellence in execution.
Our purpose is twofold: to drive business performance and enable our people to be brilliant.
This role is intended as a 6 month temporary position based in our London office location in a hybrid format. Viasat embraces a flexible work environment.
The day to day Business Partnership- Partner with managers/ senior managers and their teams to understand business priorities and provide people solutions that drive performance and engagement.
- Act as a sounding board and coach to managers, helping them manage change, build capability, and deliver results through their teams.
- Work closely with P&C Centers of Excellence and People Operations to implement programs effectively and ensure alignment across the broader people agenda.
- Support organization design, team effectiveness, and change initiatives, ensuring structures, roles, and processes enable agility and future growth.
- Partner with Talent Partners, managers and leaders to identify, develop and retain key talent.
- Support the execution of talent, performance, and succession planning processes, collaborating with Talent CoEs to build a strong leadership pipeline.
- Champion company values and inclusion, supporting initiatives that strengthen engagement, collaboration, and employee experience.
- Actively monitor engagement and partner with leaders to take meaningful action.
- Use people data, analytics, and feedback to inform decisions, highlight trends, and measure impact. Contribute to workforce planning discussions and anticipate future people needs.
- Ensure consistent and effective delivery of core people processes (e.g., performance management, compensation cycles, employee relations) with a focus on compliance, fairness, and continuous improvement.
- 5+ years of proven experience as an HR Business Partner or equivalent HR generalist role in a complex organization.
- Bachelors degree or higher in business, communications or related field
- Strong track record of partnering with senior managers to deliver impactful people initiatives.
- Experience in supporting organization change, team effectiveness, and talent management.
- Ability to apply data and analytics to inform decision-making.
- Strong interpersonal, influencing and coaching skills.
- Commercial awareness and understanding of how people strategies enable business success.
- Demonstrated ability to operate effectively in a matrixed, fast paced environment.
- Experience supporting international or multi country teams, specifically Engineering talent.
- Exposure to digital HR tools and analytics platforms.
- Familiarity with workforce planning, DE&I, and culture transformation initiatives.
- Professional HR qualification (e.g., CIPD) or equivalent experience
