About the RoleNew Chapter Tuition is seeking a dedicated and resilient Outreach Tutor to support children and young people across Merton who are unable to access mainstream education.
This role focuses on working 1:1 with learners with SEMH, ADHD, anxiety, and those at risk of exclusion, using a relationship-based and trauma-informed approach to re-engage learners and support positive outcomes.

Responsibilities as an Outreach TutorAs an Outreach Tutor, you will deliver personalised educational support in community-based settings such as homes, libraries, learning hubs, or alternative provisions across Merton.
- Deliver 1:1 outreach tuition to learners with SEMH, ADHD, and complex needs
- Plan and adapt sessions to meet individual learning, emotional, and behavioural needs
- Use creative and flexible approaches to re-engage learners who are disengaged from education
- Build positive, trusting relationships that promote confidence and resilience
- Monitor progress and provide feedback to families, schools, and professionals
To succeed in this role, you will have experience supporting vulnerable or disengaged learners in Merton or similar settings.
- Experience working with SEMH, ADHD, anxiety, or learners excluded from mainstream education
- Knowledge of the UK curriculum with a flexible, learner-centred approach
- Calm, patient, and empathetic manner with strong communication skills
- Confidence working independently in alternative or community-based environments
