Out of Hours Call Handler - Severnside Urgent Care

Job summary

We are recruiting for a call handler in both the weekday professional line and the out of hours service and have various hours available for our integrated urgent care service - Severnside Urgent Care.

Call Handlers - the core purpose of our Call Handlers are to take calls from Health Care Professionals and enter patient demographics onto our patient database system for our clinical team to triage as part of a team.

Please note: This role will be 8 hours weekends only

Please note the following payrates apply to this role: Weekday and weekday evening: £13.72 Weekends and overnights: £15.37

Main duties of the job

• To answer calls to the professional line from health care professionals.
• To guarantee a professional and informed response to the caller.
• To process external referrals into Integrated Urgent Care via professional sources other than NHS 111 e.g. ambulance service, pathology results, community teams.
• To ensure that such referrals are accurately entered onto the patient database system.
• To follow our safety calling process to ensure patient safety.

Person Specification Qaulifications and Experience Essential

• A good standard of education to GCSE or equivalent

Desirable

• Experience of working in healthcare / NHS

Skills and Attributes Essential

• Evidence of computer literacy and keyboard skills
• Able to work within a team and take instruction as required - Able to quickly establish rapport and credibility with others in the team

Personal Qualities/Behavioural Attributes Essential

• Good team player who is able to support, value and respect the contribution of all members
