We are currently seeking a Outside Plant (OSP) Engineering Team Lead to join our operations in a 1-year Contract position.

Responsibilities
  • Responsible to act as the Lead Designer on various projects that the department is awarded;
  • Facilitate project plan with those assigned to the projects within the department;
  • Act as the point of contact for the customer when Division Managers are not available;
  • Ensure customer is kept informed and any changes are communicated to VistaCare team, including the Director of Engineering;
  • Monitor scheduling issues and ensure all dates are met for the clients. If any dates become an issue produce a project plan to meet these dates;
  • Review other employees work and verify proper time frames are kept per project;
  • Review project timelines with Regional and Division Managers;
  • Read and interpret fibre network design drawings, and outside plant records (data, maps);
  • Collaborate with other divisional teams to overcome project challenges and provide optimal solutions;
  • Special projects as assigned.
Knowledge and Skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and ensure that deadlines are met, with a focus on resolving scheduling issues and developing contingency plan;
  • Great computer skills and ability to learn new software with ease;
  • Detail-oriented with good organizational and time-management skills;
  • Must be able to prioritize as needed, in a deadline-driven environment;
  • Capability to accommodate the different telecommunications standards established for each client;
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills;
  • General understanding of construction documents, drawings, and specifications;
  • Knowledge of current construction practices is considered an asset;
  • Highly analytical and proven problem-solving abilities.
Additional Requirements
  • The successful candidate will be required to pass a criminal record check;
  • The successful candidate must be authorized to work in Canada.
Experience Required
  • + 2 years experience in Telecommunications or Fibre to the Home design;
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or Diploma of Technology, preferably in Telecommunications, Civil, or Electrical Engineering;
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD for creating and reviewing telecommunication network designs and construction drawings, including both aerial and underground conduit plans;
  • Experience in managing and leading design teams, including overseeing project schedules, timelines, and resource allocation.

  • Compensation is paid weekly;
