Orchestration Software Engineer - 2 year Contract - Hybrid

We're looking for an experienced Orchestration Software Engineer to support a secure, large-scale infrastructure automation programme This is a hands-on role focused on reverse engineering Legacy builds and delivering zero-touch automation across complex server, network and storage platforms.

Key Responsibilities

• Reverse engineer Legacy applications and manual build processes into fully automated, parameterised deployment packages
• Develop complex Python3 automation classes for production systems
• Implement configuration management using Ansible (Puppet/Chef considered)
• Deliver OS-level automation using Bash (Linux) and PowerShell (Windows Server)
• Automate deployment across multi-vendor server, network and storage technologies
• Build and support Jenkins pipelines for configuration generation and builds
• Troubleshoot hardware and software component failures
• Produce production-quality code using Git/BitBucket and participate in peer reviews
• Produce and review detailed technical design artefacts
• Support system integration and wider platform testing activities
• Work within Agile delivery teams using JIRA and Confluence
• Collaborate with Service Management teams to resolve live platform issues

What You Will Ideally Bring

• Minimum 12 months recent hands-on experience developing complex Python3 automation classes
• Strong experience with configuration management tools (Ansible preferred)
• Solid Bash and/or PowerShell Scripting for in-OS automation
• Experience automating large-scale infrastructure environments
• Exposure to multi-vendor server, storage and networking technologies
• Hardware and software troubleshooting experience
• Advanced Python and PowerShell capabilities (eg, Workflows, Desired State Configuration, Bare Metal Deployment)
• Experience working within Agile development environments
• Strong written and verbal communication skills

Contract Details

Duration: 2 Years
Daily Rate: 500 per day (Inside IR35)
Location: Hybrid in bristol
Start Date: ASAP
