Optical Assistant job in Liverpool

Salary: Up to £28,000 (depending on experience)
Hours: Full time 37.5 hours per week (closed on Sundays)
Location: Liverpool

We're currently working with a well-established, family-run independent optical practice in Liverpool, with a fantastic reputation within the local community.

This is a lovely opportunity for an experienced Optical Assistant to join a genuinely supportive team where patients and people come first.

Important Requirement:
You must have a minimum of 12 months' experience working within optics. Applications without this will not be considered.

Responsibilities:

• Dispensing to a wide range of patients
• Helping patients choose frames and lenses suited to their individual needs
• Carrying out pre-screening tests confidently
• Supporting patients throughout the dispensing and collection process
• Providing friendly, knowledgeable advice on eyewear and lens options
• Maintaining excellent standards of patient care
• Supporting the wider team with the smooth running of the practice
• Building strong, long-term relationships with patients

What we are looking for:

• Around 2 years' optical experience ideally, with strong dispensing and pre-screening skills
• Good sales ability and commercial awareness, with the confidence to recommend products based on the patient's individual needs
• Excellent attention to detail, particularly when recording orders, handling payments and ensuring information is entered accurately
• A genuine desire to learn, develop and progress within the optical industry
• A friendly, confident and professional manner, with the ability to build strong relationships with patients
• A positive, team-focused attitude and the ability to contribute to a supportive, close-knit working environment
