Job Description

Are you an experienced Operations Manager or Practice Manager who is looking for the next step in your career? Do you have extensive knowledge of safeguarding and an interest in working with partner agencies to develop and improve practice in East Sussex? If so, this could be the opportunity for you.

The work of the Safeguarding Development team is focused on supporting and enhancing safeguarding practice within Adult Social Care and across East Sussex.This fixed term role is for a registered social worker with a proven record of being able to work in partnership with colleagues and partners to support and manage change, who is confident in presenting learning and advising on complex safeguarding enquiries.

The role requires the successful candidate to oversee the Safeguarding Development team who provide link social work support to a number of operational teams, and act as a MARAC representative for Adult Social Care, with a view to ensuring MARAC duties and development work are completed. There will also be a requirement to undertake and report on audits and to be involved in other quality assurance work to ensure good practice and learning is identified.

In addition, there will be a need to support the review and development of departmental and multi agency guidance to ensure statutory duties and effective practice is communicated to colleagues and partners.

There will also be a need to prepare and deliver presentations on a range of safeguarding topics for the Operational Management Team, operational teams and partners. This will include learning from audits and Safeguarding Adult Reviews, as well as exciting opportunities to support the work of the Safeguarding Adults Board and networking with key partner agencies to effect change where required.
