Caldy Golf Club is one of the North West's most respected private members' golf clubs, known for its heritage, quality course and welcoming club environment. As part of our commitment to raising standards and delivering an exceptional experience for members, guests and visitors, we are seeking to appoint an Operations Manager. This role is central to ensuring our golf activities are delivered with professionalism, consistency and attention to detail, reflecting the expectations of a leading private members' club.
The Role Working closely with the General Manager, professional team and club committees, the successful candidate will support the smooth, structured and professional delivery of all golf and administration operations. The role combines competition administration, visitor coordination, systems management and cross departmental communication to enhance the overall club experience.
Key Responsibilities Member & Visitor Experience- Act as a primary contact for golf-related enquiries from members, guests and visitors
- Process visitor reservations via telephone, email and online systems
- Manage deposits, invoicing and payment tracking for visitor bookings
- Maintain and monitor tee booking and visitor reservation systems
- Assist with pre-arrival communication for visiting golfers
- Support a professional and welcoming experience for visitors on arrival
- Liaise with Professional Shop, catering and course teams to ensure a seamless visitor journey
- Assist in tournament administration
- Set up and manage competitions on club software systems
- Process results, scoring records and prize administration
- Assist with trophy and medal engraving arrangements
- Support preparation of the annual fixture list
- Maintain member handicaps in line with the World Handicap System
- Liaise with Competition and Handicap Committees
- Support administration of club championships, Regional Open Qualifying and club open events
- Assist in organising golf-related club activities and internal events
- Prepare start sheets, scoring systems and communications
- Maintain accurate golf operations records and databases
- Monitor tee sheet usage and booking patterns
- Support upkeep of membership and golf records in club systems
- Assist with maintaining golf-related content on the club website, members' app and social media channels
- Support preparation of golf operations communications to members
- Provide information and imagery for promotional or visitor materials when required
- Act as an operational link between golf, clubhouse and management functions
- Support communication between departments to deliver a joined-up member and visitor experience
- Assist in promoting safe operational practices within golf activities
- Support procedures relating to golf buggy usage where required
- Assist with golf-related telephone and email enquiries
- Support general administrative tasks connected with golf operations
- Experience in golf club administration or golf operations
- Excellent organisational and communication skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Competence with booking systems and administrative software
- Customer service mindset suited to a private members' club
- Knowledge of WHS and competition administration
- Experience working with committees or volunteer structures
- Understanding of service expectations within a premium club setting
- Currently undertaking or having completed a recognised golf industry qualification through The PGA, CMAE or GCMA, or a desire to work towards such qualifications
- Aspiration to develop a long-term career in golf club or golf operations management
