Operations Manager

Join Practice Plus Group as an Operations Manager and play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality, patient-focused healthcare across our Urgent Access Primary Care service in Worcestershire. You'll lead non clinical teams, oversee service delivery, and ensure operational excellence in a fast paced, supportive environment. The role includes participation in an on call rota, providing out of hours operational support to ensure continuity of care and rapid response to urgent service needs.
Main Duties- Assist the Service Delivery Manager in the daily management and coordination of the Urgent Access Primary Care Service.
- Provide leadership and support to the in hours and out of hours teams.
- Support the service and step up during times when other Managers are absent, such as annual leave and sickness.
- Recruit, interview and onboard new operations staff members.
- Manage and resolve operational issues promptly to maintain service quality and efficiency.
- Help ensure the service functions meet all relevant CQC standards.
- Actively monitor capacity and demand figures within the service and work with the Service Delivery Manager to ensure staffing levels meet all KPIs, identifying areas for improvement when needed.
- Collaborate with other departments/areas to ensure seamless service delivery.
- Serve as bronze on call for two weeks out of every four, ensuring effective response and management during these periods; cover operational shifts as needed due to sickness or other service requirements (additional payment made for Bronze on call).
- Work one session (3.5 hrs) in the out of hours period every other week in one of the PCCs or attend a visiting shift. One shift in four will be conducted on a weekend. These shifts replace, not add to, normal working hours.
- Proven experience as an Operations Manager, Supervisor or Lead - managing operations staff.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple priorities, and utilise excellent problem solving and decision making.
- Compassionate approach with the ability to interact with stakeholders at all levels.
- Strong experience with the Microsoft Office package (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Understanding of the confidential nature of work.
- Excellent communication and organisation skills, using Outlook and Teams.
- Experience working within the healthcare sector, preferably within Primary Care, OOH, PCC, UTC or PCN environment.
- Understanding of the management of bank staff.
- Experience supporting recruitment and interviewing.
Competitive salary: £37,000 to £38,000 per year, depending on experience.
