Operations Manager

We are looking for an Operations Manager to join our Solution Centre management team, leading a team of Project Managers delivering complex electrical engineering projects across the UK and Ireland.

This role is responsible for the delivery of a portfolio of high-value projects, typically ranging from £0.5m to £10m, across Power Systems, Secure Power, Digital Energy and Building Management projects. You will lead a team of Project Managers, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, and in line with financial and customer expectations.

As Operations Manager, you will take full accountability for project portfolio performance, including financial KPIs, customer satisfaction, health and safety, and overall delivery performance. You will work closely with Sales, Tendering, Commercial and Service teams to support business growth and ensure successful project execution.

This role is ideal for someone who combines strong project delivery leadership with commercial and financial awareness, and who enjoys managing teams and building strong customer relationships.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a team of Project Managers across the UK and Ireland
• Take full responsibility for the successful delivery of a portfolio of electrical engineering projects
• Manage project financial performance including margin, debt reduction, and variation growth
• Ensure high standards of health and safety across all project sites
• Support forecasting, budgeting, and strategic planning activities
• Act as senior escalation point for customer issues and project challenges
• Work closely with Tendering, Sales, Commercial and Operations teams
• Manage suppliers and partners to ensure service delivery and performance
• Drive continuous improvement across project delivery and operational processes

What We're Looking For

• Experience managing a team (direct reports)
• Strong financial and commercial awareness
• Experience delivering electrical engineering or infrastructure projects
• Strong customer relationship management skills
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Electrical engineering background
• Project Management qualification such as Prince2
• Willingness to travel across the UK
