Job Description

We are a small but long-established directional drilling company seeking an experienced and highly organised Operations Manager to oversee daily operations, coordinate projects and support field teams.

This role is critical in ensuring smooth communication between office and site, efficient resource planning, and the successful delivery of projects.

Operations & Project Coordination

Plan, schedule and oversee multiple directional drilling projects from initial enquiry to completion.

Coordinate with site teams, clients and suppliers to ensure timelines are met.

Monitor project progress and resource allocation (supplier/off hire).

Prepare work schedules, RAMS (Risk Assessments & Method Statements) and project documentation.

Coordinate with the rest of the team to facilitate seamless communication and workflow.

Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and maintain high standards of workplace safety.

Identify areas for process improvement and implement innovative solutions to enhance productivity.

Office and Administrative Management

Super organised with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.

Manage day to day office operations.

Proficiency in using operational management software and Microsoft Office suite.

Maintain accurate project records and compliance documentation.

Oversee financial reporting and invoicing in coordination with accounts.

Act as primary contact for clients and suppliers.

Work with surveyor in preparing quotations and project proposals. Essential.

Proven experience in an operations, project coordination or management role within construction, civil engineering or utilities.

Strong understanding of construction processes and site operations.

Excellent organisational and multitasking skills.

Strong communication and problem solving abilities.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

  • Knowledge of directional drilling, trenchless technology or utilities.

Confident in communicating with clients, suppliers and operatives.

Proactive and enjoys being part of a small friendly team.

Resilient and able to work under pressure.

Commercial awareness and ability to meet deadlines.
