Operations Director

Location: Midlands

Working Hours: Mon - Fri, 07:30 - 17:00

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Midlands plant and tool hire business.
  • Lead, motivate, and manage a dedicated team of regional managers, sales staff, and operational personnel.
  • Drive operational efficiency, ensuring smooth processes in fleet management, delivery, and collection services.
  • Manage budgets, forecasts, and ensure profit maximisation across the region.
  • Develop and implement strategic growth plans to expand the customer base and increase market share.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, suppliers, and stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and legal regulations.
  • Implement best practices to maintain equipment standards and quality control.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and industry developments to stay ahead of the competition.
Essential Qualifications & Skills
  • Proven experience in a senior operational management role within the plant and tool hire, construction, or similar sector.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
  • Excellent understanding of fleet management, logistics, and operational processes.
  • Financial acumen with experience managing budgets and driving profit.
  • Strong problem solving skills and ability to implement effective solutions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Full UK driving licence.
