We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Operations Director to provide overall leadership and management to the non-clinical functions within the centre. This position will oversee all non-clinical teams, including administration, facilities, and supplies, across our private patient day-case centre, contributing to the ongoing development of our patient care. The role involves directing operational activities in line with Welbeck's business objectives and participating in senior management functions. The Operations Director reports to the Centre Director and is supported by the Welbeck Group's Capital Projects, Procurement, IT, and Finance Teams, as well as colleagues across regional centres.

Job Responsibilities
You will work predominantly Monday-Friday, 9-6, with flexibility for extended hours and weekends based on the centre's needs. As a senior leader, you will oversee daily operations, ensuring quality and safety, and lead the hospital's operational strategy aligned with Welbeck's central strategy. Responsibilities include partner development, clinician onboarding, and participation in governance committees.
Operational Leadership
- Lead non-clinical operational services to ensure safety, efficiency, and quality
- Build proactive, engaged teams responsive to service demands
- Maintain visible leadership and facilitate communication across departments
Workforce Leadership and Development
- Attract, develop, and retain high-performing teams fostering a positive culture
- Provide line management, coaching, and support HR procedures
- Ensure mandatory and guest experience training is up to date
Performance Management and Governance
- Ensure departmental KPIs and service levels are met
- Manage staffing and resource allocation for efficiency
- Maintain governance frameworks compliant with CQC standards
Guest Experience and Service Delivery
- Oversee guest experience policies and feedback channels
- Engage with patients and visitors to promote positive experiences
- Gather feedback for service improvements
Compliance and Health & Safety
- Lead on GDPR and data protection compliance
- Ensure health and safety legislation and policies are followed
- Coordinate mandatory training across departments
Financial and Resource Management
- Manage budgets, revenue, and costs
- Oversee self-pay pricing, patient accounts, and insurer payments
- Own digital tools and manage system upgrades
Business Development and Strategic Contribution
- Support new service development and revenue opportunities
- Maximize patient activity and hospital capacity
- Participate in governance structures
Capital Projects and Facilities Management
- Support capital projects, refurbishments, and infrastructure upgrades
- Oversee Business Continuity Plans
- Lead ESG and sustainability initiatives
Experience / Qualifications / Skills
Essential
- Senior operational management experience in healthcare or similar regulated environment
- Degree or postgraduate qualification, or significant management experience
- Financial management skills and resource planning experience
- Strong literacy, numeracy, and IT skills
- Experience in data analysis and business development
- Knowledge of risk management, governance, and health and safety regulations
- Leadership skills to implement operational best practices
