Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Operations Consultant - Sanctions to join our growing team. This role is ideal for someone with a deep understanding of sanctions compliance who can advise on operational strategy, improve sanctions processes, and provide expert guidance to help our clients navigate the complexities of global sanctions regimes.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess and improve current sanctions compliance processes and systems for clients in various sectors.
• Advise clients on the operational impact of sanctions regulations and recommend best practices for managing sanctions risks.
• Provide support for the development and implementation of sanctions compliance programs, including screening, monitoring, and reporting systems.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the seamless integration of sanctions compliance procedures across business operations.
• Review and analyze client sanctions screening systems and tools, making recommendations for optimization and compliance improvements.
• Lead sanctions risk assessments to identify vulnerabilities and propose mitigation strategies.
• Monitor regulatory changes in sanctions laws and advise clients on how to adapt their operations to remain compliant.
• Prepare and deliver training materials and workshops on sanctions compliance for clients and internal teams.
• Support the design and implementation of internal policies and procedures related to sanctions compliance.
• Provide ongoing guidance and consultation to ensure that clients adhere to both local and international sanctions regulations.

What We're Looking For

• At least 5 years of experience in sanctions compliance or operational roles within financial services, consulting, or risk management.
• Strong understanding of global sanctions regimes (UK, EU, US, UN, etc.) and the operational implications of sanctions regulations.
• Experience in conducting sanctions risk assessments, process reviews, and system evaluations.
• Ability to advise clients on the operational aspects of sanctions compliance and help implement best practices.
• Knowledge of sanctions screening systems, transaction monitoring, and regulatory reporting tools.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex sanctions issues to non-experts.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to develop practical and effective solutions.
• Relevant certifications such as ICA, ACAMS, or similar are preferred.
