About the Company
Our client is a well-established, mid-sized fabrication and construction company specialising in access at height, safeguarding systems and bespoke fabricated solutions.
With a strong reputation for quality, safety and practical engineering solutions, the business works across a range of commercial and industrial projects. They are now looking to appoint an experienced Operations & Logistics Manager to oversee and coordinate the day-to-day operational and logistical activities of the business.
The Role
Reporting to senior management, the Operations & Logistics Manager will play a key role in ensuring that projects, fabrication activities, deliveries and site operations are planned and coordinated efficiently.
This is a hands-on management position suited to someone with a strong background in fabrication, construction, engineering or a related environment, who understands the importance of planning, scheduling, people management and operational control.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and coordinate day-to-day operational and logistics activities.
- Plan and schedule fabrication, deliveries, installations and site requirements.
- Coordinate resources, materials, labour and transport to ensure projects remain on programme.
- Work closely with project managers, fabrication teams, site teams, suppliers and customers.
- Oversee the movement and availability of materials, equipment and finished products.
- Identify and resolve operational and logistical issues quickly and effectively.
- Monitor workflow, productivity and resource utilisation.
- Support the management of subcontractors, suppliers and external service providers.
- Ensure projects are properly resourced and operational requirements are communicated clear.
- Develop and improve operational processes, systems and procedures.
- Maintain a strong focus on health and safety, quality and compliance.
- Assist senior management with operational planning, reporting and continuous improvement.
- Lead and support operational staff, fostering a positive and accountable working environment.
You will ideally have:
- Previous experience in an operations, logistics, production or project coordination management role.
- Strong fabrication or construction industry experience.
- A good understanding of manufacturing, fabrication, installation or construction processes.
- Excellent planning, scheduling and organisational abilities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to manage multiple priorities in a busy working environment.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Experience managing teams, subcontractors and suppliers.
- A practical, hands-on approach to operations.
- A strong understanding of health & safety requirements.
- Good IT and administrative skills, including Microsoft Office.
- Salary: €60,000 - €70,000, depending on experience.
