Operations & Facilities Manager - Quentin Blake Centre for IllustrationHours: Full time
Terms: Permanent
Location: The Quentin Blake Centre for Illustration, London
We're a small but ambitious arts charity on an exciting journey. We are transforming a half-acre industrial heritage site - New River Head Clerkenwell - into the national centre for illustration and a home for Quentin Blake's archive.
We are seeking an experienced operations manager who can shape and oversee a welcoming, inclusive, sustainable and compliant visitor experience at an exciting new cultural destination.
Joining approximately six months before we open, you will establish and manage our Visitor Welcome team, comprising permanent staff, casual workers and volunteers. You will plan, budget, schedule and oversee all reactive and planned maintenance, cleaning and security, holding relationships with a wide range of contractors. You will champion inclusion, health and safety and environmental sustainability.
You will be organised, proactive and solutions-focused, with strong interpersonal and communication skills that motivate people. Your energy, experience and curiosity will drive a culture of continuous improvement.
We champion art that is dynamic, diverse and inclusive; we want our team to reflect that. Although this is listed as a full time post, we're very happy to explore alternative working patterns.
In recognition of underrepresentation in our staff team, we will be offering guaranteed interviews to D/deaf and disabled applicants and applicants of African, Caribbean, Central Asian, East Asian, Latinx, South Asian, South East Asian and West Asian heritage whose applications meet the essential criteria listed in the Job Pack.
We are registered as a Disability Confident employer. Please let us know if you have any access requirements that need to be met to support you to make an application or participate in the interview process: .
An online information evening for this role will take place on Thursday 7 August from 6pm - 7pm BST. This is an opportunity to meet our team, find out more about our work and ask questions about the role. If you would like to attend, please email and ask us for joining details.
