Operations Analyst

A growing commodities-focused hedge fund is seeking an Operations Analyst to join its London office. This role will support the trading desk and investment team, ensuring efficient processing, reconciliation and control of exchange traded derivatives, with a focus on Futures and Options.

This position offers strong exposure to trading, portfolio management and risk within a dynamic buy side environment.

Trade Lifecycle Management

• Trade matching and validation across internal systems and broker platforms
• Manage trade allocations and ensure accurate booking of transactions
• Handle trade fixing and amendments where required
• Process and monitor trade confirmations with brokers and counterparties

Reconciliations & Controls

• Perform daily T+1 trade, position and cash reconciliations against brokers and internal systems
• Investigate and resolve trade and position breaks
• Ensure accuracy of futures and options positions and settlements

P&L & Reporting

• Assist with daily P&L reconciliation and reporting
• Investigate valuation discrepancies and pricing issues
• Support operational reporting for internal stakeholders

Operational Oversight

• Liaise with traders, prime brokers, fund administrators and clearing brokers
• Maintain strong operational controls across the trade lifecycle
• Support improvements to operational workflows and processes

Compliance & Governance

• Assist with operational compliance requirements and record keeping
• Support internal control procedures and operational audits

• 2-4 years' experience in Operations, Trade Support or Middle Office
• Experience within a hedge fund, asset manager, bank or commodity trading firm
• Strong understanding of the trade lifecycle for Futures and Options
• Experience with trade matching, allocations, confirmations, P&L reconciliation and T+1 reconciliations

• Advanced Excel skills

• Enfusion or similar OMS/PMS platform

• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
• Ability to operate in a fast paced trading environment
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills
• Excellent communication skills with internal and external stakeholders
