Operations Administrator

As an Operations Administrator, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the effective day-to-day running of a College or School within the University of Leicester. You will deliver a high-quality customer service experience while acting as a key liaison between the School and central Professional Services functions such as IT, Estates, Human Resources, Finance and Student and Academic Services. Working collaboratively across the Operations team, you will contribute to the smooth delivery of operational processes and cross-functional objectives, ensuring that staff, students and visitors receive an efficient and professional service.
This varied role will see you supporting recruitment and onboarding processes, coordinating space and facilities management, and taking responsibility for local health and safety activities, including acting as a Building Safety Officer and Fire Warden where required. You will also lead on departmental IT coordination, maintain accurate records and systems, and provide administrative support for committees and meetings. With a focus on continuous improvement, you will proactively identify opportunities to enhance processes and work closely with colleagues across the University to support operational effectiveness and the delivery of institutional priorities.
About youYou will have substantial administrative experience gained in a busy, customer-focused environment, along with excellent organisational and IT skills, including confident use of Microsoft Office. Educated to A level standard or equivalent experience, you will be able to manage competing priorities, work independently, and respond effectively to changing demands while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail. Your ability to communicate clearly and professionally with a wide range of stakeholders will be essential, as will your experience of maintaining systems, handling confidential information and supporting multi-functional teams.
You will be a proactive and adaptable team player with a positive, solution-focused approach to your work. Strong problem solving skills, the ability to take initiative and a commitment to continuous improvement will enable you to contribute to the enhancement of operational processes. With a collaborative mindset, you will build effective working relationships across the University and support colleagues to deliver shared objectives, helping to maintain a responsive and effective Professional Services environment.
