Job Description
Role Overview

Operational Support Officer - provides essential customer service and administrative support to court and tribunal users, judiciary and management at HM Courts & Tribunals Service (HMCTS). The role is based in High Wycombe and is available in full time, part time, job share and flexible working arrangements.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare papers and files for court, tribunals, hearings and meetings, including processing sensitive information and ensuring accurate outcomes.
  • Maintain digital records, accurately interpreting and updating court file information.
  • Communicate with the public, judiciary, other court and tribunal users and representatives of external agencies.
  • Support the smooth running of court proceedings, prepare court hearing rooms and ensure efficient proceedings.
  • Act as the first point of contact for court users, including meeting members of the public and vulnerable witnesses and their legal representatives.
Qualifications
  • Strong customer service skills and experience in a service led, customer facing environment.
  • Excellent digital and administrative skills with keen attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and organisational skills, confident in person, over the phone, digitally and in written form.
  • Resilience and empathy to handle sensitive information and situations.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and flexibly to achieve HMCTS objectives.
Working Arrangements

Standard full time hours are 37 hours per week (Mon Fri). Part time, flexible, and job share patterns are accepted provided the role's demands are met. Minimum part time consideration is 22.2 hours per week over three days (Mon Wed). Up to two Saturdays per month may be required on a rota basis.
