  • Advanced Facilities: Tier 3 RCVS-accredited hospital with ISFM Cat Friendly Gold status and plans for a CT scanner

My client is offering a rare opportunity for a Veterinary Surgeon to join their highly regarded Out of Hours (OOHs) service, following a team member's departure.

This expanding, progressive, RCVS-accredited practice operates across branches in Calne, Corsham, and Melksham, with a state-of-the-art Tier 3 Veterinary Hospital in Chippenham. The OOHs service, launched in January 2022, has already earned exceptional feedback from both clients and partner practices.

The hospital is ISFM Cat Friendly Practice Gold Award accredited and is equipped to an exceptional standard, with exciting plans for further expansion, including the addition of a CT scanner.

Conveniently located close to the M4 and just five minutes from the train station, the practice is easily accessible for both clients and staff.

North Wiltshire offers the best of both worlds-stunning countryside on the doorstep of the Cotswolds, plus excellent links to vibrant cities including Bristol, Bath, Cardiff, and even London (just an hour by train).

The Role
  • Pattern: 7 nights on, 14 nights off (average 31.5 hours per week)
  • Flexibility: No daytime work required, though weekend assistance is optional
  • Team: Work alongside a dedicated, experienced RVN - applicants must be confident in sole-charge responsibilities
  • High engagement in cases with strong support for professional growth and client care
Benefits (pro rata)
  • Salary: Up to £65,000, inclusive of holiday pay (holiday to be taken during non-working periods)
  • Annual Leave: 6.6 weeks including bank holidays
  • CPD Allowance: £1,750 per annum (higher for postgraduate qualifications)
  • Memberships: RCVS fees plus one additional professional subscription paid
  • Insurance: VDS cover provided
  • Enhanced maternity, paternity, adoption, shared parental and surrogacy pay
  • Discounted veterinary fees
  • Cycle-to-work scheme
  • CPD/training support and career progression opportunities
  • Company sick pay, annual pay reviews, colleague engagement surveys
  • Strong focus on employee wellbeing

This is an exciting chance to join a supportive, close-knit team committed to delivering exceptional clinical care.
