Job Description
Overview

Our warehouse unit in Bonnington in Leith, which also houses our Furniture Centre, is an important part of our retail family. We are looking for volunteers to help in our expanding online department which sells a variety of items, including clothing and collectables, on Ebay. This role covers listing stock online, providing descriptions and researching prices, taking attractive photos for listings, getting stock ready to post, and potentially some social media involvement. The role is non-customer facing in a busy but relaxed and friendly environment.

What will I be doing / involved in?
  • Research items online (including clothing and collectables), taking photographs, and listing stock online with accurate descriptions.
  • Package items for posting and organise collection.
  • Potentially contribute to social media activities.
What experience or skills do I need?
  • Comfortable with smartphone technology and online research tools; IT literate.
  • Interested in old and unusual items or current online fashion trends.
  • Familiar with the online selling process.
  • Organised, thorough, and detail-focused; reliable.
Time commitment

One afternoon or morning each week or fortnightly. The role will be reviewed on a yearly basis.

Additional information
  • Hospice Chaplains are available to support volunteers.
  • Volunteers may claim reasonable travelling expenses for transport to and from the Hospice or the volunteer location. Please speak to your manager about this.
  • The Hospice provides complimentary tea and coffee to all volunteers, staff, patients and families as part of the hospitality strategy.
