Office Cleaner

Maintain a clean, hygienic, and safe office environment by carrying out a range of cleaning duties to a high standard.
Responsibilities- Clean and sanitize office areas including desks, meeting rooms, and reception areas
- Vacuum carpets and rugs; sweep and mop hard floors
- Clean kitchen areas, including surfaces, sinks, and appliances
- Clean and disinfect washrooms, toilets, and showers
- Empty bins and dispose of waste appropriately
- Replenish consumables (soap, toilet paper, paper towels)
- Follow hygiene standards and cleaning schedules
- Use cleaning chemicals safely in line with COSHH guidelines
- Report maintenance issues (e.g., leaks, breakages, hazards)
- Identify areas requiring deep cleaning or attention
- Ensure cleaning equipment is stored safely and maintained
- Lock/unlock areas if required
- Follow health & safety procedures at all times
- Work independently or as part of a team
- Respond to ad hoc cleaning requests (e.g., spills)
- Comply with all Health & Safety regulations
- Use PPE appropriately
- Ensure safe handling and storage of cleaning chemicals
- Prevent hazards such as wet floors and trip risks
- Willingness to attend relevant training courses
- Well-developed understanding of the English language: spoken, written and reading
- Awareness and understanding of health and safety
- Previous experience of cleaning in an office / commercial setting
- COSHH awareness in a commercial setting
- Manual handling and health & safety at work regulations and guidance
- Physically able to carry out the manual aspects of the role (including lifting and bending)
- Reliable and punctual, with strong sense of responsibility and commitment to the role
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Warm, approachable, with strong professional boundaries
- Flexible and adaptable to changing priorities and business needs
- Able to work independently and to manage own workload within allocated timeframes
- Tactful and discreet, whilst mindful of observing safeguarding and professional standards
