We're delighted to be partnering with a leading UK industrial manufacturer to recruit an experienced Occupational Hygiene Manager, to take responsibility for leading and developing a specialist team, ensuring the effective management of workplace health risks across a complex industrial environment.

This is a pivotal leadership role within a well-established Health, Safety & Environmental function, offering the opportunity to influence occupational health standards across the site.

Key Responsibilities of the Occupational Hygiene Manager include:

  • Lead and manage the Occupational Hygiene team and associated work plans
  • Ensure compliance with relevant health and environmental legislation
  • Oversee surveys, inspections, and monitoring activities
  • Advise plant operations on occupational hygiene compliance and improvements
  • Liaise with external contractors and regulatory authorities (including the HSE and Environment Agency)
  • Provide professional guidance to senior leaders and directors
  • Review and enhance internal Health & Safety instructions and systems
  • Support the wider H&S auditing process
  • Conduct on-site testing where required

We're keen to speak with experienced Occupational Hygienists who are ready to step into - or further develop within - a leadership role, with the below skills and experience:

  • Hold (or be working towards) the BOHS Certificate of Operational Competence in Occupational Hygiene
  • Possess the P402 Asbestos Surveyor qualification (desirable)
  • Have broad experience across multiple occupational hygiene disciplines
  • Demonstrate strong analytical capability and a continuous improvement mindset
  • Be confident influencing and advising senior stakeholders
  • Have experience leading or coaching small teams
  • Hold a full UK driving licence (UK travel required)
  • Flexibility is important, as occasional out-of-hours work may be required
