We're delighted to be partnering with a leading UK industrial manufacturer to recruit an experienced Occupational Hygiene Manager, to take responsibility for leading and developing a specialist team, ensuring the effective management of workplace health risks across a complex industrial environment.
This is a pivotal leadership role within a well-established Health, Safety & Environmental function, offering the opportunity to influence occupational health standards across the site.
Key Responsibilities of the Occupational Hygiene Manager include:
- Lead and manage the Occupational Hygiene team and associated work plans
- Ensure compliance with relevant health and environmental legislation
- Oversee surveys, inspections, and monitoring activities
- Advise plant operations on occupational hygiene compliance and improvements
- Liaise with external contractors and regulatory authorities (including the HSE and Environment Agency)
- Provide professional guidance to senior leaders and directors
- Review and enhance internal Health & Safety instructions and systems
- Support the wider H&S auditing process
- Conduct on-site testing where required
We're keen to speak with experienced Occupational Hygienists who are ready to step into - or further develop within - a leadership role, with the below skills and experience:
- Hold (or be working towards) the BOHS Certificate of Operational Competence in Occupational Hygiene
- Possess the P402 Asbestos Surveyor qualification (desirable)
- Have broad experience across multiple occupational hygiene disciplines
- Demonstrate strong analytical capability and a continuous improvement mindset
- Be confident influencing and advising senior stakeholders
- Have experience leading or coaching small teams
- Hold a full UK driving licence (UK travel required)
- Flexibility is important, as occasional out-of-hours work may be required
