Observability Engineer to work for a multinational Institution in Strasbourg

We are looking for an Observability Engineer to work for a client project in Strasbourg.
Location: 100% on-site work in Strasbourg.
Start date: Immediately
End Date: 9 months; possible extensions
Preliminary Requirements: Candidate should be citizen of member states of the European Union (EU nationality), and should be able to get their criminal record.
Role description:
The work focuses in the implementation and management of observability systems within an organization. Observability refers to the ability to measure the internal state of a system based on its external outputs. In the context of software engineering and operations, this involves monitoring, tracking, and analysing data from systems and applications to ensure their performance, availability, and reliability.
Task description:
- Implementation of Monitoring Tools: Configure and maintain tools that collect metrics, logs, and traces from applications and systems.
- Data Analysis: Interpret the collected data to identify patterns, detect anomalies, and predict potential problems.
- Automation: Develop scripts and automations to improve the efficiency of monitoring and incident response.
- Collaboration: Work closely with development, operations, and security teams to ensure that systems are observable from the start.
- Alerts and Notifications: Set up alert systems to notify relevant teams about issues in Real Time.
- Continuous Improvement: Continuously evaluate and improve observability practices to adapt to new technologies and business needs.
Job requirements:
- University degree (master or equivalent) in Computer Science;
- Knowledge of Observability Tools: Familiarity with tools like Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana), Jaeger, etc.
- Programming and Scripting: Skills in languages like Python, Bash, and other Scripting languages.
- Data Analysis: Ability to analyse large volumes of data and extract useful information.
- Communication: Ability to communicate findings and recommendations to technical and non-technical teams.
- Problem Solving: Ability to identify and solve complex problems in distributed systems.
- Very good English speaking & writing skills;
- Experience and willingness of working in an international/multicultural environment.
