The School -
Cambian Potterspury Lodge School is a special school that offers fantastic opportunities for up to 64 children and young people with a primary diagnosed of Autism and who have an EHCP. The school is well very well subscribed with a strong pipeline and our educational offer is valued by local authorities and the parents/carers we serve.
The school is also set in a stunning location near Towcester, Northamptonshire, and the internal environment creates an inspiring place of learning where young people receive the specialist education and multi-disciplinary care they need. Each young person is given an individually tailored and holistic programme of support, preparing them well for adulthood. Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- To maintain an up to date understanding of Special Educational Needs (SEN) principles, definitions and basic practice. This includes an awareness of the roles and responsibilities of those who contribute to SEN programmes.
- To effectively Co-ordinate the work within the nurture class, covering all subject areas and cross-curricular themes, in conjunction with Subject Leaders as set out in the curriculum policy.
- To communicate and consult with parents/carers and other appropriate people, participating in student focused meetings as required.
- Being familiar with curriculum requirements and making full use of assessment information to develop, adapt and evaluate teaching strategies to give maximum benefit to students with SEN
- Identifying appropriate learning outcomes and developing a range of approaches which reduce barriers arising from impairments and help students to attain achievable targets.
- Working collaboratively with multi-disciplinary teams to make best use of expertise.
