Nursing Team Lead

Castel Froma Neuro Car provides 24 hour nursing cares across two care centres, Helen Ley House and Lillington House, for people with neurological conditions and brain injury.

The successful candidate will be required to support and enhance the nursing care of residents. To provide a specialist clinical service to individuals and their families, as well as providing senior support to the nursing team and the multi-disciplinary team, as a whole.

Main duties of the job

The Nursing Team Lead will be responsible for the development, maintenance and implementation of the highest level of care and will work as the most Senior Nurse on duty on a regular basis. The Nursing Team Lead will work closely with the Registered Manager and Deputy Nursing Manager to ensure that regulatory compliance is maintained across all relevant areas.

As well as 24 hour nursing care, we provide physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech & language therapy, psychology and dietetics.

Staff at CFNC work as part of a multi-disciplinary team (MDT). This involves bringing together professionals of different backgrounds to work as a team in devising and implementing care packages to meet the individual needs and requirements of each resident.

Job responsibilities

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

• Instilling excellent clinical practices and thereby ensuring high standards of nursing care for the residents at Castel Froma;
• Assisting the Registered Manager to ensure that the care centre complies with CQC and other regulatory clinical requirements;
• Providing clinical leadership to the nursing team including appraisal and supervision of staff, preparation and review of clinical policies and procedures;
• Conducting clinical audits including medication, infection control and care plans;
• Managing the assessment process of prospective residents;
• Working as the most senior Registered Nurse on a regular basis, including an 'on-call' system to ensure all shifts are suitably staffed;
• Liaison with other senior managers, heads of departments and the Nominated Individual as and when necessary;
• Attendance at various meetings;
• Other ad hoc duties, as required.

Key Performance Requirements:

• Ability to assess the needs of prospective residents and guests, and work within a multi-disciplinary team framework;
• Ongoing development of clinical strategy for the organisation as a whole.

Person Specification Knowledge and Skills

• Ability to provide quality care.
• Basic IT skills.

Qualifications

• NMC Registered.
• Hold a driver's licence and have access to a car, as we are not easily accessible by public transport.

Experience

• Experience within a care home setting.
• Experience with neurological conditions and brain injuries.
