Job Description

As a Nursery Room Leader, you will support the day-to-day leadership of a nursery room within a high-quality early years childcare setting based in West Kensington, Greater London, W14.

This role is suited to an experienced Room Leader or senior early years professional with a background in Nursery (EYFS), confident supporting childcare routines, children's learning, safeguarding, and high standards of room practice.

The nursery setting supports children from 3 months to 5 years within dedicated age based spaces designed to encourage safe, secure, and engaging learning through play. You will help create a positive room environment where children can develop confidence, independence, communication, and curiosity through structured EYFS activities and nurturing childcare support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and support the day-to-day running of the nursery room
  • Support high-quality EYFS learning, play, and development activities
  • Promote a safe, caring, stimulating, and inclusive childcare environment
  • Support children's learning, development, confidence, and wellbeing
  • Maintain safeguarding, welfare, health, and safety standards
  • Build positive relationships with children, families, and colleagues
  • Support observations, assessments, records, and nursery documentation
  • Work collaboratively with the wider nursery and early years team
  • Encourage child-centred practice across daily routines and activities
  • Maintain high standards of communication, professionalism, and room organisation
Requirements
  • You must have the permanent right to work in the UK
  • Relevant Early Years qualification aligned with EYFS expectations
  • Previous experience working as a Room Leader or senior practitioner within a nursery or early years childcare setting
  • Background in Nursery (EYFS)
  • Ability to support EYFS learning, safeguarding, child development, nursery routines, and room leadership
  • Warm, caring, professional, and child-focused communication skills
  • Ability to work independently while leading and supporting the wider nursery room team
