Grade: Band 6 (£41,608 - £50,702 pro rata per annum)

We're seeking a talented Application Specialist to join the North of Scotland (NoS) HEPMA Digital Team on a fixed term / secondment basis for 12 months, supporting the delivery and operation of our region-wide Hospital Electronic Prescribing and Medicines Administration (HEPMA) and Pharmacy Stock Control (PSC) systems. This is a unique opportunity to work across six NHS Boards-Grampian, Highland, Orkney, Shetland, Tayside, and Western Isles-delivering a transformational service that enhances patient safety, clinical efficiency, and digital innovation.
What You'll Do- Provide 3rd line support for HEPMA and PSC systems across the region.
- Collaborate with clinical, pharmacy, and IT teams to troubleshoot, test, and implement system upgrades.
- Work with national suppliers and cloud infrastructure teams to ensure robust and secure service delivery. Contribute to the evolution of digital prescribing and medicines management in a multi-board environment.
- A technically sound IT professional with strong experience in application support, system management, or data management.
- Skilled in Windows server/desktop environments, scripting, databases, and reporting tools.
- A natural problem-solver with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Someone who thrives in collaborative, multi-disciplinary teams and enjoys learning and adapting in a fast-paced environment.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION FOR CANDIDATESAs from 1/4/26, the Agenda for Change full-time working week will be reducing from 37 to 36 hours per week. Part time hours will be reduced pro-rata. However, there will be a corresponding increase in the hourly rate so that pay will not be affected.
