An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and innovative individual to undertake the role of Service Manager. Working within a multidisciplinary team, you will have an essential role in supporting the delivery of service objectives both locally and nationally. This is a fast paced job where no two days are the same, working to manage the GP Out of Hours services in the most effective and efficient way possible.
Responsibilities- Provide a high quality, safe and effective clinical out of hours service across NHS Grampian, ensuring robust corporate, healthcare, clinical and staff governance frameworks.
- Manage the budget for the Out of Hours service in line with organisational procedures and restrictions.
- Lead and support the ongoing development of the service in line with national and local developments and policies.
- Play an important role in ensuring the Grampian Primary Care Out of hours service has an appropriate voice in Unscheduled Care development.
- Improve performance and develop partnership and collaborative working across secondary, primary care, local authority, NHS24, SAS and other key stakeholders.
- Educated to degree level or equivalent Professional Management qualification.
- Relevant Senior Management experience.
- Project Management experience and previous experience managing an Out of Hours Primary Care service.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to achieve goals by working well and in partnership with people from many disciplines and at all levels including NHS, Council and external contractors.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Computer (IM&T) literate.
- Full, clean driving licence (essential).
Mon Fri 08 00 with some out of hours cover. Role is office based in Aberdeen with expected travel to other centres across Grampian.

Additional InformationAs from 1/4/26, the Agenda for Change full time working week will be reducing from 37 to 36 hours per week. Part time hours will be reduced pro rata. However, there will be a corresponding increase in the hourly rate so that pay will not be affected.
