Job Description
Non-Executive Director - Chair of Audit & Assurance Committee Organisation Job Description

Quality homes, great services, vibrant communities.

At Plus Dane Housing, we provide more than 13,000 homes across Cheshire and Merseyside, supporting over 30,000 customers. Alongside offering safe and affordable housing, we deliver vital services, advice, and support to help people live well and thrive in their communities. We are now delivering our 2024-27 Corporate Plan and are seeking a Non-Executive Director to join our ambitious Board as Chair of the Audit & Assurance Committee.

We are looking for an experienced strategic leader who is familiar with audit and assurance programmes and who can contribute to our forward looking committee. You'll bring the skills to challenge financial judgments, ask the right questions, and provide external insight into wide ranging audit and assurance matters. While a formal financial qualification is not essential, you will bring strong financial literacy and a clear understanding of a Board's governance and legal responsibilities.

Experience in social housing is not required, although you will have executive or non-executive experience in a regulated sector and the strategic insight to support a £100m turnover organisation with a £650m asset base. The time commitment is around two days per month.

Our Board champions an inclusive culture where every voice is heard and valued. We are committed to diversity in all its forms, recognising that varied perspectives and lived experiences lead to better decisions. We offer training, development, and opportunities to contribute to projects that shape our future and make a positive impact on our colleagues and customers.

If you share our values, as well as our belief that everyone has the right to a warm, safe and decent home, then please download the candidate pack by clicking below. If you then require a confidential conversation, please contact: Nick Roberts on () or Louise Bickley on ().

The closing date is 9am on Monday 2 February 2026.
