A veterinary hospital in Solihull is seeking a Night/ OOH Veterinary Surgeon to join their team. The successful candidate will take responsibility for emergency and in-patient cases from their own clinic, manage cases fully (from diagnosis through surgery or treatment), and collaborate closely with a night-team of veterinary nurses and patient care assistants.

- An in-house laboratory that operates five-star diagnostics: rapid tests, blood gas, ionised calcium, cortisol, bile acids, etc.
- A collaborative, large team: multiple vets, veterinary nurses, patient care assistants and support staff, with strong leadership. Ongoing professional development is encouraged, including certificate training in surgery, internal medicine, exotics.
- Accommodation for overnight staff: resting bedrooms provided during night shifts.

- Maintain high standards of patient care, ensuring protocols and clinical governance are adhered to.
- Collaborate with the RVN / PCA team overnight, liaise with the base daytime team and senior clinical leadership.
- Communicate effectively with clients and colleagues, ensuring continuity of care.
- A veterinary surgeon with confidence in ECC (emergency and critical care) who is happy working in a busy overnight environment.
- Someone who values doing cases properly, who enjoys hands-on work and who seeks to maintain high standards of clinical excellence.
- Good communicator, team player, with capacity to make decisions in pressure situations.
- The desire to grow professionally (certificate studies welcomed).
