Night Veterinary Surgeon - Be part of something new
Posted 6 days 9 hours ago by British Veterinary LGBT+
An exciting opportunity has arisen for experienced and forward thinking Veterinary Surgeons to join the founding team of a brand new, independently owned veterinary hospital opening in the Rugby area. This rare role is ideal for clinicians who want more than a standard out of hours position and are motivated by the chance to help shape a high standard, 24/7 hospital from the ground up.
The leadership team is seeking dedicated vets for both the day and night services-particularly those who hold a postgraduate certificate, are working towards one, or are keen to begin advanced training. Successful candidates will play a key role in establishing clinical standards, developing patient pathways, and contributing to the hospital's strategic direction. Clear pathways to clinical leadership and the potential to accrue partnership shares reflect the genuine value placed on the team's expertise, commitment, and innovation.
Why This Opportunity Stands OutThis new hospital has been designed around both clinical excellence and team wellbeing. Spacious prep and theatre areas, a dedicated imaging suite, and comfortable staff facilities ensure a professional and supportive working environment. From launch, the hospital will be equipped with advanced diagnostics and surgical capabilities, including CT, DR X ray, ultrasound, endoscopy, laparoscopy, and a full in house laboratory.
A dedicated night and out of hours team will ensure 24/7 care with seamless patient handovers, strong case continuity, and an excellent standard of client service. The founders are committed to creating a culture where vets are respected, their ideas matter, and career development is actively supported.
A Thriving LocationBased in the Warwickshire area, the hospital sits within a vibrant and well connected region of the Midlands. The surrounding area offers an appealing blend of green spaces, friendly communities, and excellent transport links-ideal for those who enjoy a balance of outdoor lifestyle and easy access to major towns and cities. Strong rail and road networks make the location convenient for commuting or relocation, while the expanding local population ensures a rapidly growing client base and varied caseload.
What the Team Is Looking For- A veterinary surgeon with a strong foundation in general practice and ECC
- A certificate holder, or someone working towards one or eager to begin postgraduate training
- Confidence in managing a wide range of medical and surgical cases independently
- A collaborative approach and enthusiasm for contributing to a high performing team
- A proactive mindset and excitement about being part of shaping a new, progressive independent hospital
- Salary up to £85,000, depending on experience and rota structure
- Flexible rota patterns, such as 7 on / 14 off, with alternatives open for discussion
- Profit share scheme from day one, recognising the contribution each team member makes
- Potential relocation support for the right candidate
- Fully funded certificate support with dedicated CPD allowance
- Professional fees covered (RCVS, VDS, BVA, and relevant memberships)
- Wellbeing focused working environment, including dedicated rest spaces and sleep breaks where possible
- Clear development pathways into leadership or advanced clinical roles
- The chance to actively shape hospital protocols, clinical standards, and practice culture
This is a unique chance to help build a high quality, independent hospital from inception-an environment where your voice matters and your career can genuinely thrive. Experienced clinicians seeking a meaningful next step, especially within ECC or advanced practice, are encouraged to apply.
Those earlier in their career can also register their interest, as additional opportunities will open as the hospital grows.
