Overview

A rare and exciting opportunity has become available at this Small Animal Hospital and Emergency Services Clinic in Barnsley, for an Out-of-Hours Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN) to join the team. Applications are welcomed from both newly qualified and experienced nurses who are seeking a fresh challenge.

This Hospital is a well-established and highly regarded facility, providing comprehensive 24/7 care with a dedicated on-site team. Since opening almost 20 years ago, it has developed into a centre of excellence, equipped with advanced technology including a CT scanner, rigid and flexible endoscopes, and ultrasound machines. The hospital offers a wide range of services, from neurosurgery and orthopaedics to minimally invasive procedures, stem cell therapy, chemotherapy, and first opinion practice. Its commitment to high standards of care is demonstrated by four outstanding RCVS awards.

The team consists of 15 Veterinary Surgeons, including a dedicated out of hours team, alongside 17 Registered Veterinary Nurses, 3 Student Veterinary Nurses, 5 Animal Care Assistants, and a skilled non clinical support team. Together, they are committed to delivering exceptional care across both general and referral cases, ensuring continuity of treatment for every patient.

Role

The role is suited to a nurse with solid general nursing experience and excellent customer service skills. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic, approachable, and genuinely passionate about animal welfare. This is a full time position working a 7 on, 7 off rota from 7:15 pm to 7:30 am.
