Neurodiversity Complex Case Lead

Central & North West London NHS Foundation Trust is recruiting a Neurodiversity Complex Case Lead for the Health & Justice team at HMP Send. This position supports the healthcare needs of people in secure environments and promotes health and well being across a 7 day working model.
Contract: Fixed term, band 6 7 developmental post expected to progress within 12-18 months. Location: HMP Send, Town Woking, Surrey Salary: £40,617 - £56,908 per annum inclusive of HCAS (pro rata if part time). Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Full time or Part time.
Main Duties- Lead identification, assessment and support of people with neurodevelopmental disorders (Autism, ADHD, Intellectual & Developmental Disabilities).
- Provide and support adapted psychosocial interventions for individuals whose communication, thinking style and coping strategies are impacted by neurodiversity.
- Manage a complex caseload requiring reasonable adjustments to healthcare.
- Keep up to date with research, policy and legislation relevant to neuro development.
- Offer expert consultancy to the Mental Health Team and contribute to person centred pathways and interventions within the MDT.
- Develop person centred care plans identifying strengths and needs in collaboration with individuals.
- Work with the clinical lead to improve outcomes for people with ND at HMP Send, meeting national specifications for primary and mental healthcare.
- Deputise for the line manager when required and participate in the Healthcare Management Team.
- Recognise the need for flexibility, working outside normal hours including weekends.
- Maintain own skills and knowledge to a high standard and support this within the team.

Detailed Responsibilities- Quality of Care: Promote health and well being, maintain a safe and therapeutic environment, and ensure reasonable adjustments for people with ADHD, ASD and IDD.
- Support research and development of care pathways for neuro developmental disorders.
- Use appropriate screening tools and provide adapted psychosocial and psycho education sessions.
- Maintain accurate clinical records and comply with data protection and confidentiality policies.
- Participate in quality meetings, audits, and other professional development activities.
- Lead on specific care quality initiatives and foster collaborative relationships across services.
- Registered Nurse (Mental Health / Learning Disability) with current NMC registration.
- Post registration qualifications or formal training in diagnostics (ADOS, DIVA, WAIS) or therapies (CBT/DBT).
- Evidence of ongoing professional development since registration.
- Excellent IT skills, experience with electronic patient information systems, and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Teamwork and independent working skills, ability to use supervision positively.
- Knowledge of patient rights and safeguarding frameworks.
- Problem solving, stress management, conflict resolution and evidence based practice.
- Awareness of current NHS policies, NICE guidelines and prison health legislation.
- Clinical experience with autism, ADHD or intellectual/developmental disabilities in health or social care.
- Experience supporting acutely mentally unwell people and prioritising complex needs.
- Managing risk assessment and resolution in a secure setting.
- Experience delivering CBT/DBT informed interventions and trauma informed care.
- Experience working within multidisciplinary teams, including CPA or similar.
- Motivated to maintain high standards and be open to constructive feedback.
- Compassionate, non judgmental and flexible approach.
- Professional appearance, good communication and ability to engage with challenging clients.
- Must conduct themselves in accordance with the relevant code of conduct for registration.
- Vaccination is strongly encouraged to protect patients and staff.
