The Emergency Services Network (ESN) is a strategic priority for BT, aiming to provide advanced mission-critical communications for Britain's Emergency Services. It will replace the Airwave network, leveraging EE's 4G technology to serve 300,000 frontline emergency personnel.
We seek a candidate capable of ensuring the Radio Access Network (RAN) capability data supports our customers. This role offers development opportunities in OSS design, coding, and network automation, contributing to the design and delivery of radio vendor OSS systems, including trace management and geolocation systems.
The successful candidate will be cleared to BPSS (or equivalent) as a minimum, with potential requirements for National Security Vetting (e.g., CTC, SC, or NPPV).
What you'll be doing- Collaborating with RAN OSS design authorities to develop design and automation capabilities for RAN Element Managers and Trace Management tools supporting the ESN contract.
- Using coding skills and radio/network knowledge to support vendor OSS platform designs for radio and transmission technologies.
- Engaging with technical and non-technical stakeholders to propose solutions for predicting, planning, and visualizing RAN data.

- Proficiency in Python, Unix/Linux scripting (BASH, PERL), with an understanding of radio network infrastructure data and protocols.
- Knowledge of Mobile Radio Network & OSS architectures, including network design and operational processes.
- Experience with OSS design, particularly in Network Element Management platforms like Nokia MantaRay NM, Ericsson ENM, Cisco EPNM, Trace Management, and Geolocation tools.
- Understanding of IP Networks, virtual machines, and cloud solutions; experience with AWS, Azure, or similar is desirable.
