NDT Technician

Location: Sheffield S6
Salary: Competitive
Hours: 37 hours per week (Days) + Overtime Available

An established and growing specialist manufacturing business in Sheffield is looking to recruit an experienced NDT Technician to join its technical team.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-invested organisation supplying safety-critical components into highly regulated industries.

The Role

Reporting to the NDT Manager, you will be responsible for carrying out ultrasonic inspection activities on machined forgings and wrought products, ensuring compliance with customer and industry standards.

You will play a key role in maintaining quality standards across safety-critical components.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ultrasonic inspection of forged and machined components
  • Visual and dimensional inspection
  • Generation of inspection certification and part-specific technique sheets
  • Positive Material Identification (PMI)
  • Marking and identification of components
  • Packing of goods for dispatch where required
Experience & Background

Candidates should have experience working within a highly regulated manufacturing environment, ideally supplying sectors such as:

  • Aerospace
  • Nuclear
  • Defence
  • Power generation
  • Oil & Gas
Essential Qualifications
  • NAS 410 / EN 4179 Level 2 Ultrasonic Qualification
Desirable
  • PCN (EN 9712) Level 2 Ultrasonic (Forgings & Wrought Products)
  • Immersion Ultrasonic experience
  • Forklift Truck Licence
  • Overhead crane experience
  • Documented NAS 410 / EN 4179 on-the-job experience
