About The Role:

Role Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and highly capable National Account Director to lead and deliver a major UK-wide retail security contract. This is a senior leadership role, reporting directly to the Managing Director, with full strategic and operational responsibility for a prestigious national client in the retail sector.

You will lead a team of regional account managers and ensure the delivery of consistent, high-quality static guarding services across a diverse portfolio of retail sites. You will act as the senior point of contact for the client, fostering a strong partnership and driving service excellence, operational efficiency, and financial performance.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide strategic leadership and direction for the delivery of the national retail security contract, ensuring all contractual, operational, and financial obligations are met.

  • Act as the primary senior liaison between the company and the client, maintaining a trusted partnership at all levels.
  • Lead, motivate, and develop a team of account managers and operational staff, ensuring clear objectives, high performance, and professional development.
  • Oversee the planning and delivery of static guarding services across all retail sites, ensuring compliance with agreed service levels and industry standards.
  • Drive financial performance of the contract, including budgeting, forecasting, cost control, and reporting, ensuring profitability and sustainable growth.
  • Identify and implement initiatives to improve service quality, operational efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
  • Monitor contract compliance, risk, and health & safety across all locations, ensuring adherence to company and legal requirements.
  • Prepare and deliver regular performance reports, reviews, and strategic plans to both the client and the company's board.
  • Proactively address and resolve any escalated operational or client issues in a timely and professional manner.
Skills & Qualifications:
  • Proven track record of managing large, complex national accounts within the security industry, specifically delivering static guarding services in a retail environment.
  • Senior leadership experience, including managing remote teams and reporting at board level.
  • Strong commercial acumen, with experience managing multi-million-pound budgets, driving profitability, and delivering financial accountability.
  • Excellent understanding of the retail security landscape, relevant legislation, industry standards, and best practice.
  • Demonstrable experience building and maintaining senior client relationships and driving customer satisfaction.
  • Relevant industry qualifications and certifications (e.g., SIA licence, NVQ/Diploma in Management, etc.) are desirable.
