Multiskilled Maintenance Engineer (Electrical Bias)

A well-established chemical manufacturing business is seeking an electrically biased Multiskilled Maintenance Engineer to join its engineering team in Tameside. This is a permanent opportunity offering stability, a strong salary package, and the chance to work within a process-driven production environment.
The RoleWorking on a rotating 3-shift pattern (06:00-14:00, 07:00-15:00, 14:00-22:00), you will be responsible for maintaining plant reliability through a combination of preventative and reactive maintenance. You'll play a key role in ensuring production uptime while contributing to continuous improvement initiatives across the site.
Key Responsibilities- Electrical and mechanical maintenance across all plant machinery
- Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) and reactive breakdown response
- Fault-finding on electrical and mechanical systems
- Identifying and implementing continuous improvements to enhance performance and reliability
- Ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently, and within required timeframes
- Supporting production teams to minimise downtime
- Maintaining accurate maintenance records
- Providing guidance and mentorship to on-site apprentices
- Electrically biased Multiskilled Maintenance Engineer
- Recognised engineering qualification (apprentice trained preferred)
- Strong electrical fault-finding skills, supported by mechanical knowledge
- Experience within a manufacturing or process environment (chemical advantageous)
- Competent with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Ability to work independently and proactively in a fast-paced environment
- High attention to detail and commitment to quality standards
- Flexible and adaptable approach to workload
- Salary: £45,000
- Rotating 3-shift pattern (no nights requirement)
