Leopardstown Park Hospital is a registered centre for the provision of services to older people, providing Day services and Long Term Care, situated in South Co. Dublin. It was established in 1917 and continues to provide interdisciplinary services on a seven day, twenty four hour basis.

Purpose of the Post
To provide person centred, high quality support across multiple service areas within the Resident Services Department. The Multi Task Attendant will rotate duties across Household, Portering, Reception, Administrative Support, and any other department that may be required, depending on the needs of the hospital and the service. The role enhances operational continuity and resident experience.
Principal Duties and ResponsibilitiesGeneral
- Rotate between household, portering, admin, and reception tasks as rostered.
- Carry out duties in accordance with HIQA, infection control, and hospital policies.
- Maintain a courteous, compassionate, and professional manner at all times.
- Deliver general and deep cleaning duties as per the hygiene schedule.
- Report any maintenance issues or hazards to line manager.
- Support with laundry and waste handling duties as assigned.
- Support internal delivery of meals and refreshments to units and residents.
- Safely transport documents, specimens, or equipment as requested.
- Assist with internal deliveries and maintain the porter log.
- Greet all visitors, families, and contractors and manage sign in logs (manual or digital).
- Respond to internal and external queries in person or by phone.
- Maintain security, confidentiality, and visitor policies.
- Carry out clerical tasks including data entry, filing, and scanning.
- Support the logging of transport records, daily sheets, and internal communications.
- Assist with event coordination or logistical duties for activities.
- Adhere to hospital policies on confidentiality both within and outside the workplace.
- Immediately report all incidents or accidents to the Resident Services Manager and complete the necessary forms in accordance with policy.
- Cooperate with any accident/incident investigations and After Action Reviews.
- Review and remain updated with the Hospital's Health and Safety Manual.
- Attend in service training provided by hospital departments or external agencies.
- Adhere to all the Hospital Health and safety policies and requirements.
- Wear the uniform and PPE provided and follow the Hospital's Dress Code.
- Represent the hospital professionally by maintaining a clean and tidy uniform.
- Act as an ambassador for the hospital at all times, upholding its values and fostering a positive image within the community and beyond.
- Wear the name badge supplied when on duty.
Qualifications and/or experience
- QQI Level 5 in Health Service Skills, Healthcare Support, or equivalent.
- Ability to multitask and work across multiple departments.
- Demonstrate commitment to confidentiality, hygiene, and person centred service.
- Proficient communication and interpersonal skills.
- Previous experience in a hospital or healthcare setting.

Knowledge
- Standards and Regulations: Awareness of HIQA, HSE, HACCP, and GDPR requirements relevant to non clinical services.
- Health & Safety: Proficiency in manual handling, infection control, incident reporting, and hygiene protocols.
- Equipment and Tools: Safe use and maintenance of cleaning devices, portering aids, communication tools, and clerical systems.
- Hospital Procedures: Familiarity with internal protocols including shift handover, porter logs, waste disposal, and reception etiquette.
- Sustainability: Awareness of environmentally conscious practices in waste segregation, energy use, and eco friendly cleaning.
Employment type
The current vacancy is permanent and Full Time.
Remuneration
The Salary scale for the post is in accordance with Health Sector Consolidated 9 point Salary Scales ranging from point 1 35,788 to point 9 44,984.
Working Week
39 hours per week, rostered over 5 days out of 7 as required by LPH.
23 days per annum (pro rata for part time employment), subject to management approval and hospital service needs.
Superannuation
Provision is made for pensions, and where applicable is in accordance with either the Local Government (Superannuation) Act 1956, & Superannuation (Revision) Scheme, 1977 and 1998 or the Single Public Service Pension Scheme Act 2012.
