MULTI SKILLED OPERATIVE - WHITWELL QUARRY, WORKSOP

We are currently looking for an experienced Multi Skilled Operative to join our Whitwell Quarry near Worksop, Nottinghamshire. This role is easily commutable from Sheffield, Chesterfield, Rotherham, Worksop, Bolsover, Dronfield, North Anston, Retford, Doncaster and Mansfield.

Main Responsibilities

• Report directly to the Shift Managers as part of a key team of Operatives producing dry aggregates material for the construction industry.
• Deliver best in class Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality performance for our Plant operations.
• Operate computer based fixed crushing and screening plant.
• Input data into app based systems.
• Support weighbridge operations.
• Operate mobile plant including loading shovel, dumpers, tractor and bowser.
• Work with other members of the team to ensure that customers get good quality material.
• Assist the Shift Managers with meeting daily/weekly production targets.
• Ensure Plant always conforms with safety requirements and follows Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality policies, procedures and responsibilities.
• Help site to achieve Key performance indicators.
• Complete fixed and mobile plant inspections.
• Ensure that Plant availability is maximised.
• Work to keep housekeeping around site to a high standard.

This is a DAY shift role working 48 hours week Monday - Friday. Overtime is available to meet the site production needs when required.

Hours: Mon - Thurs: 05:30 - 15:30 and Fri: 05:30 - 13:30.

The Ideal Candidate

• Willing to learn the site's operations in line with current company and legislative policies.
• Demonstrate good communication skills and a real desire to develop both operative and supervisory skills.
• Knowledge of Quarrying and plant operations (preferred).
• Previous experience in mobile plant operations such as loading shovel.
• Flexible and able to work as part of an effective Multi Skilled Operative team.
• Self motivated and able to motivate other colleagues in the team.
• Good time keeping - reliable and flexible as per the site's manufacturing requirements.
• Good communication skills - bring problems to the attention of Line Management.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
• IT Literate.
• Previous experience as a Multi Skilled Operative working in a Quarry environment is an advantage but not essential.
