Location: Middlesbrough

Salary: £42,000 - £50,000 (DOE)

Shift: 4 on 3 off (Sunday cover required - Flexible Hours Between 06:00 - 19:00)

A well established food manufacturing business is currently recruiting for a Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join their site in Middlesbrough. The facility is modern, with relatively new machinery and a high volume production output supplying into multiple sectors.

The Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer will be responsible for reactive maintenance across production equipment, alongside small installations and general site maintenance. The role is not heavily PPM driven, so requires a proactive engineer who is comfortable fault finding and responding quickly to breakdowns.

You will be working across a range of semi automated production lines and supporting equipment, ensuring minimal downtime and consistent performance across the site.

Key Responsibilities

• Reactive maintenance across production equipment.
• Small installations and general site maintenance.
• Fault finding and rapid response to breakdowns.
• Support across semi automated production lines and supporting equipment.

Non Negotiable Requirements

• Multi skilled engineering experience.
• Engineering qualification.
• Manufacturing background.
• PLC understanding (inputs/outputs).
• Ability to read and understand electrical drawings.
• Strong electrical fault finding (3 phase, motors, sensors, inverters).
• Ability to wire and test motors.
• Mechanical maintenance skills (bearings, belts, chains, pneumatics).
• Experience working on production machinery.
• Ability to carry out reactive maintenance and small installations.
• Comfortable supporting basic facilities work when required.

Desirable Requirements

• Electrical bias.
• Food / FMCG background.
