Multi Skilled Engineer - Elec or Mech Bias

Our client is a leading food manufacturing business, supplying into a range of retailers wholesalers. We're working in partnership to assist them in recruiting a Multi Skilled Engineer to join their Engineering team. Role Purpose:

To provide Engineering resource in carrying out planned and reactive maintenance activities to minimise downtime and reduce quality issues. To strive towards Continuous improvement of machinery equipment and ways of working in line with the business strategy.

You'll need to have similar food or FMCG experience. All experience considered as full machine and product training given, along with an in-depth on-boarding programme. The company will also fund further engineering training / courses as required.

Early & Late rotating shift pattern
Monday to Friday - 6am-2.15pm / 2pm-10.15pm
Overtime is available

Summary of core responsibilities

• Fault diagnosis at breakdown repairs of plant machinery & equipment
• Adherence to statutory checks and GMP
• Involvement in various engineering & capital projects
• Upkeep of stores and engineering documentation
• Assist supporting and training of relevant employees in all aspects of shared maintenance
• To take training and up-skillprogramme as directed by business needs
• Deliver effective communication at team reviews, engineering meetings and shift handovers

Required skills & experience

Ideally Mech Bias, but Multi skilled. This role would be perfect for an engineer who is happy to be hands-on, but also carry out machine condition monitoring, asset care management & project work. Strong mechanical fault finding & repairs skills - hydraulics, gearboxes, bearings, shafts, drives. NVQ Level 3 / ONC / HNC Engineering
