Job Description

Since 1956, here at Tayto Group, we have been committed to delivering some of the most delicious snacks and our much-loved brands have grown to include Golden Wonder, REAL Crisps, Mr Porky and of course Tayto, Northern Ireland's number one crisp brand!

However, as much as we love our well-known brands, we also put just as much care and flavour into our supermarket labels, which you will be able to snap up in most of the UK's major retailers!

As the UK's largest family owned snack manufacturer, we are currently producing around 8 million packs per day and are committed to delivering the best product. In turn, require the best people to come and be a part of our on-going success!

A huge part of our success is not only down to our dedicated Engineering Department, but the planning that goes into it! We have an opportunity for a Multi Skilled Engineer to come and play a pivotal role in the organisation, planning and coordination of the engineering activities at our site in Scunthorpe!

Taking direction from your Lead Technician, or the Maintenance Manager, this role will consist of a healthy mix of both mechanical and electrical works, including maintenance and repairs to conveyors, fryers, bagging machinery, slicing and flavouring equipment. You'll be responsible for both reactive and planned maintenance and offer insights surrounding reliability and continuous improvements to ensure optimum output is maintained.

What will we need from you?

  • A recognised Engineering qualification, whether that is an NVQ Level 3, BTEC, Time-Served Apprenticeship, HNC/HND or equivalent
  • Demonstrable experience in both electrical and mechanical fault-finding and repairs
  • Experience working within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Ideally a food processing factory, but this isn't essential
  • Experience working with conveyors and packaging machinery. Experience working with fryers would be a huge advantage but isn't essential

What you can expect in return

You'll have the opportunity to work as part of an experienced, committed engineering team on a 4 on 4 off shift pattern(2 days, 2 nights)

You will have access totraining, development and further qualifications as part of our learning & development programme.
