This post is within the Radiology Physics team at the University Hospitals of North Midlands NHS Trust (UHNM). UHNM is one of the largest Trusts in the country. It is a teaching hospital in collaboration with Keele University, and is an Imaging Academy hub for the West Midlands. The main site is situated just 5 minutes from Junction 15 of the M6, providing excellent transport links north, south and east, together with immediate access to the beautiful countryside of Staffordshire, Shropshire and the Peak District.

Main duties of the jobThe Radiology Physics section of the Medical Physics department provides wide-ranging scientific and technical support to UHNM and to other Acute, and community based Trusts across Staffordshire and Shropshire. We are seeking an experienced physicist to participate in delivery of our clinical scientific services in MRI and ultrasound physics. Candidates must be HCPC registered clinical scientists, with extensive expertise, and at least 5 year's hospital based experience, in both MRI physics and ultrasound physics.

Person Specification Qualifications- State Registered Clinical Scientist with HCPC in Imaging with Non-ionising Radiation (MRI & Ultrasound) Specialty
- Honours Degree 1st or 2.1 in physics or a closely relevant physical science
- Relevant postgraduate MSc degree in medical physics
- Completion of specialist Healthcare Scientist Training Programme (STP) in Imaging with Non-Ionising Radiation (MRI & Ultrasound) physics
- 1st class honours achieved in physics degree
- IPEM MRSE certificate of competence
- Minimum of 5 years in hospital medical physics within imaging with Non-ionising radiations (MRI & Ultrasound) speciality (or 4 years as described -if also has successful additional PhD research in a medical science discipline)
