Motorhome Mechanic Technician

Vacancy - Motorhome Mechanic / Technician; £45,000 /year OTE.

About the Workshop

We are a small, independent caravan and motorhome workshop located just north of Bristol. Since 2012 we have served over 1,452 customers, delivering high quality service on a busy, but well organised and low stress team culture. The workshop features heated, dry, insulated bays with oil fired blown air heaters and LED lighting above every bay.

Key Responsibilities
  • Service and repair vehicles to a high standard, including pre MOT, post MOT, and routine maintenance.
  • Replace cambelt and perform mechanical diagnosis, repairs, and installation of systems.
  • Conduct 12 v diagnostics, repairs, and installations.
  • Diagnose and repair faults to electrical and mechanical systems, including accessories such as solar panels, bike racks, awnings, reverse cameras, TV aerials, motorhome towbars, and lithium batteries.
  • Estimate time and parts required for repairs and manage job times to meet deadlines.
  • Record and report service items, faults, and repairs accurately using company tablet/PC systems.
  • Provide technical support to customers via telephone and face to face, and demonstrate completed work to customers.
  • Maintain a clean, organised workspace and comply with health and safety practices.
  • Attend workshops and training as required.
  • Assist in training a range of mechanical technicians where relevant.
Vehicle Types Handled
  • Motorhomes and campervans based on LCV platforms: Fiat Ducato, Mercedes Sprinter, Ford Transit, Peugeot Boxer, Citroën Relay, Renault Traffic.
Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate is an experienced, multi skilled mechanic who:

  • Holds a full, current, "clean" UK driving licence.
  • Possesses a City & Guilds or NVQ Level 3 qualification.
  • Has at least 3 years of experience as a vehicle service and repair technician.
  • Is physically fit, reliable, hard working, and has a positive "can do" attitude.
  • Can work independently yet collaborate effectively within a team.
  • Is detail oriented, organised, and keeps a clean workspace.
  • Can adapt to a flexible workload during busier periods.
  • Is fluent in English, both speaking and writing, and can use company computer systems.

If you only have 80 % of the above experience but are confident, friendly, and can perform under pressure, we welcome applications from candidates in related sectors and will provide training. Pay will be adjusted until full proficiency is achieved.

Hours and Compensation
  • Full time, Monday Friday 8:30 - 17:00 (winter hours); Saturday mornings and overtime during busy periods.
  • Competitive basic salary, with a fair and rewarding workshop bonus scheme.
  • OTE of £45,000 /year (base + bonus + overtime).
  • Flexibility required during peak times.
