A modern independent garage in Bedford is looking for a qualified MOT Tester who enjoys both workshop work and customer interaction.

This is a 50/50 dual role combining MOT testing and service advisor duties, ideal for someone who wants variety in their day while maintaining a healthy work-life balance.

Your Responsibilities MOT Testing (Approx. 50%)

• Carry out MOT tests in line with DVSA regulations
• Perform vehicle inspections and basic diagnostics
• Ensure all work meets safety and compliance standards
• Identify required repairs and report findings clearly
• Maintain accurate digital MOT and vehicle records

Front-of-House / Service Advisor (Approx. 50%)

• Welcome customers and handle enquiries in person and by phone
• Book MOTs, servicing, and repairs
• Manage the workshop diary and job scheduling
• Provide updates to customers regarding vehicle work and costs
• Process invoices, payments, and job cards
• Support general administrative duties within the service centre

Candidate Requirements

• Fully qualified MOT Tester with a valid DVSA licence
• Good communication and customer service skills
• Comfortable using computers and garage management software
• Reliable, organised, and professional
• Confident speaking with customers face-to-face and over the phone
• Enjoys a varied role combining technical and customer-facing work
