Job Title: Modern Workplace Architect
Location: London (2 days per week on-site)

Duration: 6 Months

Rate: £500 - £600pd (Outside IR35)

We are looking for a Modern Workplace Architect to lead and evolve the digital workplace experience, overseeing a range of technologies across Microsoft 365, Azure, endpoint management, and collaboration tools. You'll guide a team of engineers and ensure a secure, scalable, and future-ready digital environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the technical direction and day-to-day operations of a team of 8 engineers across Azure, M365, Teams Telephony, and device/AV technologies

• Deliver and evolve M365-based solutions (Office, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive), ensuring secure integration and user experience across platforms

• Manage cloud infrastructure including Azure AD (Entra), conditional access, and security tooling (Defender for Endpoint, EOP, etc.)

• Oversee end-user device management (Windows 11, Intune, Autopilot, SCCM) and ensure stable delivery of desktop and virtualised environments

• Drive small change enhancements and strategic roadmap initiatives using agile delivery and backlog prioritisation

• Ensure AV and Teams MTR environments are performant and reliable across meeting spaces

• Lead acceptance and transition of new technologies into business-as-usual support, maintaining documentation and knowledge sharing

• Contribute to automation and integration using PowerShell, Power Automate, and Terraform

Ideal Candidate Will Have:

• Strong experience delivering infrastructure services within enterprise or regulated environments (e.g. financial services)

• Deep technical knowledge of M365, Azure AD, Exchange Online, Teams Telephony, and endpoint security

• Familiarity with networking fundamentals, desktop virtualization, IT business continuity, and cloud security best practices

• Hands-on capability with scripting, automation, and identity/access management
