Mobile Operations Support
£35,000 - £38,000 depending on experience
Manchester, Cheshire & West Derbyshire (M6/M1 Corridor)
Full Time, Permanent
Looking for a role that gets you out and about rather than working at the same site every day?
We're looking for a practical, flexible and safety-conscious Mobile Operations Support professional to provide hands-on support to our operational teams across sites throughout the M6/M1 corridor.
This is a varied, mobile role where no two days will look quite the same. Based from home, you'll travel to different sites to provide operational cover, support site teams and help ensure our services continue to run safely, efficiently and without disruption.
You could be covering a site during absence one day, operating equipment the next, and supporting a health and safety improvement or new customer rollout after that. This is an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys variety, is comfortable working independently and can quickly adapt to different sites, teams and priorities.
What you'll be doing
As part of our Integrated Operations team, you'll provide hands-on support wherever it's needed across our sites. Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing operational cover across Axil sites, including support for lone-worker locations
- Travelling between sites to provide cover during periods of absence
- Operating waste-processing equipment including counterbalance FLTs, compactors and balers
- Maintaining high standards of housekeeping and safe working practices
- Communicating effectively with site teams, managers and other key stakeholders
- Supporting site projects, new customer rollouts, innovations and health & safety improvements
- Delivering scheduled and ad-hoc toolbox talks
- Supporting training and assessment of site operatives where appropriately certified
- Helping ensure sites operate safely and compliantly while maintaining continuity of service for customers
What we're looking for
To be successful you will need to be dependable, adaptable and comfortable stepping into different operational environments. You'll need to be able to build relationships quickly, solve problems and maintain high standards even when priorities change.
You'll need:
- A driving licence and the ability to travel throughout the region
- A strong understanding of health & safety
- Good communication and problem-solving skills
- Strong attention to detail
It would also be an advantage if you hold IOSH Managing Safely, Counterbalance FLT Licence and a Tow Tug Licence, although these aren't essential.
The role
This is a home-based mobile position, but you'll be expected to work on customer sites each day. The regional coverage includes the M6/M1 corridor, Manchester, Cheshire and West Derbyshire.
The role also involves travel and some overnight stays when required, with hotel accommodation provided.
